Pieces of Transition (2011/12)

Bremen is one of Germany’s oldest seaports. The quarter called “Überseestadt” (literal: overseas city) has been a dynamic port area but was soon forgotten after bigger containerships with more flotation depth caused a major economic crisis in the field. Some years ago the government started to reanimate the area by creating new living & working facilities, founding the University of Fine Arts – located in an old magazine – and keeping one of the ports e.g. for coffee and fish meal-trade.
